LAST WEEK OF DYOB

Hi Girls.
This is the last week. The last designated stitch. FRENCH KNOT.
What else you do to the block is up to you. But it has to be finished
and a picture of the swapping block put on the blog and/or the photo
page before Saturday the 6th of June. There are no time
extensions, those who have done this block will have the opportunity
should they wish to do a secret sister swap next.

I also need your name and address sent to
chainsofhearts@yahoo.com.au AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. You will then be
given the name of the person you are to send your block to. I
will, as is the usual practice, place your names in a hat and pull
them out, when you send the block add a few bits of lace, thread or
beads you think may suit the block you are sending, it will then be up
to the receiver to finish it off.

Rosemarys Paisleys Week3

Fifth DYOB row

Hi Girls
Another week plus an extra couple of days gone so the next week will go quicker, goodness knows why I forgot to put this on here. I just hope you all saw it on the list. Anyway if you didn't this week its Oyster stitch. Its not really a row stitch but is specially nice when used with some of the other stitches we have done.

Have fun, we are just about to the end of this block

Cheers

Rosemarys block 1 & 3

Block 1 & 3 feather stitch.

Fourth row stitch

Hmmmmmmmm girls.
Maybe for the next DYOB we should do it fortnightly, it seems to be making
the weeks go to quick lol. I've been keeping to the very basic so
this week its Chevron Stitch.

Again its one of those stitches you can build on so have fun, you only have
two stitches left then its swap week so I'll need your names soon,
remember that the block you are swapping has to have a heart on it so
you may want to start doing that now, it's your choice as to how you
do the heart.

Cheers

Margreet A+B Featherstitch

Helina's naked block. I started late because I was gone for two weeks but I will enjoy stitching on a faster schedule!

Margreet't paisleys.

As you can see I used the pattern on the fabric this time.

Third row stitch

Well Girls.
Its that time of the week again. This week its featherstitch and I
want you to do a paisley motif, the size is up to you but don't
forget to leave room on the swap block for a heart. You can make two
paisleys side by side and kill two birds with one stone if you want,
now if you use the paisley on a seam and use the feather stitch you
can make that three. Have fun and I really look forward to seeing
what you come up with.

Second stitch week.

Hi Girls
How are you all going, I haven't seen many pictures yet.

Now this weeks an easy one, so easy you may be over welmed with ideas
so not know were to start.

Chain stitch with variations, hope you have lots of seams.

http://inaminuteago.com/stitchdict/stitch/Chain.html

Don't forget the variations at the bottom of the page. You don't have to do them all but there are some you may be able to use in a motif

* Alternating barred chain stitch,
* Barred chain stitch,
* Butterfly chain,
* Detached chain,
* Feathered chain,
* Heavy Chain stitch
* Reverse Chain stitch
* Twisted chain,
* Open chain,
* Oyster Stitch,
* Rosette Chain,
* Whipped chain
* Zig Zag chain.

Again I'm hoping you will all inspire each other so please get those
pictures up on the group photos file or this blog.

Cheers

First seams

Block 2 has 3 rows of herringbone as the base with chain-stitch wave and lazy daisies in the frame of the herringbone. Think this row is finished.

Block 3 has double herringbone with french knots then a single row with chain and straight stitch, it is possible I will add more.
Cheers
Rosemary
