DYOB 4 - naked blocks

Yes I'm slow at posting and stitching again.  BUT both blocks are ready waiting for stitches and luckily Margreet has picked the first two sets of stitches that I like to do so I've packed my threads and blocks and will work on them while at my CQing display tomorrow!  Will see if I can catch up before Sunday's new stitches are called!!!

My block.

Now I notice my pictures are of the blocks before I added two bought laces to one of the seams on both blocks.  Oh well you'll see that when I upload the stitches pictures.

Rose Anne's DYOB #3 - for Margreet

YEAH it is FINISHED!!!  And will be mailed off Monday to Margreet!  OK I've got the LADDERFLANELSTEEK, Basque, Tulip, and finally the Cast On Stitches along with some of my favourite ones:  Feather, Daisy, Chain with Stem, and finally the Cretan Stitches, some with beads too.

Whole Block
Naturally I've included my simple Allison's Edging top right, some of my purchased laces and Bullion knots for a rose (bottom left) and paisley shape above the rose filled in with beads.  And finished off with a brass butterfly over the pansies along with my crocheted heart attached with pearl beads.

OK this is all the pics!  Now hope there's a bit of a break before the next DYOB starts as I've no time to stitch up my blocks and as yet have to finish off my own heart block some day!

Here is a pic of the swap block so far and I'll be working on it this weekend:

Once things settle for me I'll also finish off my own heart block and post it.  Yes I so am looking forward to this swap.

Susan's DYOB #3

I have all the required stitches done and am starting on the rest of the block.  There's no beading or fancy stuff at this point.  I learned a lot of things not to do.  You should be able to click on the picture and get a close-up.

Here's a better look at the tree.  It was a lot of fun to do, but I really needed to make it smaller, or else have a larger area to expand it.  I notice this block is heavy with French Knots!
